EPA 608 Type II · Recovery Requirements · Medium
For a repair that isn't major, what level may a high-pressure appliance be evacuated to instead of the Table 1 vacuum?
Answer: D. 0 psig.
- A25 mm Hg absolute.
- B15 inHg vacuum.
- C500 microns.
- D0 psig.✓ Correct
Why D is right
40 CFR 82.156 lets a high- or medium-pressure appliance be evacuated to just 0 psig before a repair that isn't major, as long as it won't be evacuated to the atmosphere afterward. Major repairs, which remove the compressor, condenser, evaporator or an auxiliary heat exchanger coil, need the full Table 1 level.
